The most common cause for “wedding-anxiety” is clearly the question: “How do I plan for the bar”? and the second most common anxiety is: “How to I budget and pay for the bar”? We have an unusual and very successful answer to both questions. This page will take you through the process one step at a time; simple and affordable.

In order allow guests the freedom to enjoy alcoholic beverages anywhere on the property, we sell our beer, wine and spirits from our own Retail Liquor store.

We are not a bar or restaurant, selling and serving by the glass (at sometimes remarkable prices). You will find our prices, compared to a bar or caterer, astonishing!

We sell by the un-opened bottle. You may enjoy your drink anywhere on the ranch, indoors or outdoors.

We understand that you have a budget so we have chosen to make beverages available to you as inexpensively as possible. When you pre-buy and pre-pay you know exactly how much you are spending.

Current Colorado Social Host Liability Laws are clear and harsh. You may not bring your own beer, wine or liquor to serve to others on to the property without a social host liability insurance certificate listing Aspen Grove as co-insured. 

An open self-serve bar is an invitation to disaster! If your alcohol is not “supervised” you have significant health risks for flatlanders and liability risks under the Colorado Social Host liquor laws!

Hiring a certified bartender or a licensed bartending caterer is simple. Nationally, these services charge anywhere from $34.50 to $52.00 per guest.

You have friends who will “take charge” of the cake, and various other parts of your event. Ask two friends to be volunteer bartenders! All of the information they will need is  in the .pdf files below.

We want you to enjoy your time here AND get home safely!

“Do-It-Yourself” using friend-volunteer bartenders, is really not very complicated and can save you a significant amount of money!

  • Here at the Aspen Grove, your marriage is self-uniting – you are the ministers.
  • If you like, you can be lead through the ceremony by a Wrangler Guide (an Ordained Officiant), using any format and style you choose. Or you may bring your own Officiant; she or he will be very welcome.
  • Dan Morin is ordained in the Soto Zen tradition and comfortable in a variety of religious and cultural traditions. He is also a for-real rootin’, tootin’, armpit scratchin’, spittin’ on the floor cowboy. (Actually, not the spittin’ part…)
  • As your cowboy guide, Dan can help you create the ceremony that is yours.
    • We can be as formal or informal as you like (from tuxes to beer-in-hand).
    • We can be as secular, spiritual or as religious as you desire.
    • This is sacred magic! mystical
    • Planing your ceremony is easy:
    1. Start by wandering through the collection of traditional ceremonies here. Many ceremonies consist of four classic parts:
      1. A greeting (sometimes called the Declaration of Intent)
      2. Exchange of vows
      3. Exchange of rings
      4. A closing and presentation of Bride & Groom
        1. A growing number of couples now include other rituals in their ceremony. The variety is limited only by your imagination such as:
        2. When reading through our collection, what attracts you? What fits?
        3. From there, you may want to bring in your own traditions, readings, and rituals, music or
        4. You may want to write your own!
        5. Dan is happy to meet with you, or consult by phone or by email any time you would like as you plan.
        6. He will also meet with you after you arrive to review your ceremony with you (for larger or more formal weddings he will attend the rehearsal).
        7. Dan will arrive at least 30 minutes before your actual ceremony
        8. And lead you through your ceremony
        9. We will then walk you and your witnesses through the signing of the license, and will file you license with the appropriate county clerk.
        10. We are flexible and we love diversity. We welcome all couples regardless of race, religion or whatever.
        11. We are LGBT friendly!
